Alexa D. Sondey – Editor-In-Chief

Alexa is a full-time, third-year law student. She graduated from St. John’s University with a Bachelor of Science in Homeland Security. In addition to her role as Editor-In-Chief, she is the Co-President of Touro’s Women’s Bar Association, Marketing Director of the Student Bar Association, and works as a LexisNexis Student Representative. Before becoming the Editor-In-Chief Alexa worked as the Online Editor for the Touro Law Review. During law school, Alexa interned for a Federal District Court Judge in the Eastern District of New York, the United States Attorney’s Office for the Criminal Division, and Kirkland & Ellis LLP.

Lola-Marie Pyros – Managing Editor

Lola is a full-time, third year law student. She graduated from Adelphi University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Sociology while being apart of the Women’s Swimming Team. In addition to her role as Managing Editor, she is President of the Touro Employment and Labor Law Society, the 3L Representative of the Women’s Bar Association, and works as a Writing Coach in the Writing Center. She is interested in employment law, medical malpractice and bankruptcy.

Donna Arzanipour – Issue Editor

Donna Arzanipour is a full-time, third-year law student. She graduated from Stony Brook University with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Applied Math/Statistics. This past summer, she was working as a law clerk at Jaspan Schlesinger Narendran LLP. Donna is also the President of the Real Estate Law Society and a member of the Honors Program. During law school, Donna was a judicial intern for the Honorable Judge Wicks in the United States District Court of the Eastern District of New York.

Brian Wersan – Issue Editor

Brian is a part-time, third-year law student. Initially, he attended the University of Rhode Island but ultimately graduated from St. Joseph’s College with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He worked as a Research Editor during the spring semester before becoming one of the Issue Editors. While at Touro, Brian works full-time as a Court Analyst for the Grievance Committee for the 10th Judicial District, performing investigations on attorney escrow accounts.

David Looney – Articles Editor

David is a full-time third year law student. He graduated from St. John’s University with a Bachelor of Arts in History. In addition to his role as Articles Editor, he is President of Cyber Law Society, and a Senior Staff Member on Touro’s Moot Court Honors Board. During law school, David has interned for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office Homicide Bureau and for a Suffolk County District Court Judge in Central Islip, New York.

Anna Ragone – Business Editor

Anna is a full-time, third-year law student. She graduated from Stony Brook University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. In addition to her role as Business Editor, she is the President of Family Law Society, Student Representative of the Student Bar Association, Mentor in the Near Peer Mentor Program, and works as a Barbri and Westlaw Student Representative. During law school, Anna interned for the United States Attorney’s Office in the Civil Division and Bartlett LLP, and was an extern for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office and the Honorable Anthony S. Senft, Jr. This upcoming semester, Anna will be an extern for the Violent Criminal Enterprises Bureau in the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.

Sydney P. Grasso – Online Editor

Sydney is a 3L in the Full-Time Day Program. She received her B.A. in Political Science from Binghamton University in 2022. Sydney currently serves as the Online Editor of the Touro Law Review, and is a Touro Law Honors Program Scholar. This past summer, Sydney held a Summer Associate position with Meltzer, Lippe, Goldstein & Breitstone, LLP. During the Fall 2024 semester, Sydney will be externing for the Suffolk County Surrogate’s Court.

Clare E. Meaney – Online Editor

Clare is a full-time, third-year law student.  She graduated from Stony Brook University with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Anthropology. In addition to her role as Online Editor, Clare also participates in TAPS, serves as a Secretary for FLORA and is the Social Media Coordinator for the Employment and Labor Law Society. During law school, Clare was an extern for Judge Bennett at the Matrimonial Center in Nassau County. She spent this past summer working for Guercio & Guercio, LLP, where she learned about education and municipal law matters.  In continuation for her interest in Education Law, Clare will participate in the Education Justice Clinic at Touro Law Center this fall. Lastly, Clare was prestigiously selected as Pro Bono Scholar for the Class of 2025 and will take the bar exam early, this February.  She will complete her pro-bono work in the spring semester with the Children’s Law Bureau of Suffolk County Legal Aid where she will advocate for children in cases of abuse and neglect.  

Melissa E. Morello – Senior Research Editor

Melissa is a Flextime, third-year law student. She graduated from Stony Brook University with a B.A. in English and minor in Business. In addition to her role as Senior Research Editor, she is the Secretary of Criminal Law Society. While in law school she has worked full time as a Paralegal for the Suffolk County DA’s Office and is currently working as a Law Clerk for EDNY’s Asset Forfeiture Unit.

Darbie Burke – Research Editor

Darbie is a Full-Time, third year law student. She graduated from SUNY Geneseo with a Bachelor of Arts in political science with minors in history and U.S. Conflict Studies. During law school, she has interned at the Suffolk District Attorney’s office for the summer of 2023 and 2024. She is currently a research editor on law review.

Jacob Brooks – Research Editor

Jacob Brooks is a full-time day 3L from Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from Miami University with a B.S. in Marketing and a minor in Fashion Entrepreneurship. Alongside his research editor position, he is the President of the Fashion Law Society at Touro. During his law school summers, he worked for the City of New York at two different agencies, the Department of Environmental Protection in a labor relations and discipline capacity and the Department of Correction in an equal employment opportunity capacity.

Harrison Stern – Research Editor

Harrison is a full-time, third-year law student. He graduated from the New York School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University. Harrison has interned three times with the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office. In addition, he has served as an intern for a Federal Magistrate, a State Supreme Court Justice, and has served in the offices of prominent leaders Congressman Steve Israel and Senator Chuck Schumer.

Thomas Flesher – Senior Notes Editor

Tom is a fourth-year student in the FlexTime JD program. In addition to his role as Senior Notes Editor, Tom is an Associate Professor of Economics at Suffolk County Community College and Student Director of the Legal Education Access Program here at Touro. He recently published in the Journal of Economics Teaching and served as a discussant at UC Davis Law School’s Third Annual Miguel Olivas Legal Writing Institute. In his spare time, Tom is a competitive strongman and steelbender and won the 2022 Long Island’s Strongest contest in the men’s masters division.

Alexa G. Dante – Notes Editor

Alexa is a 3L who is interested in practicing in elder law. As a note editor on Touro Law Review, Alexa is responsible for helping junior staffers find a note topic they’re passionate about. Note editors offer guidance to junior staffers to ensure that their pieces will be ready for publication one day. When Alexa is not editing student notes and footnotes, her favorite activity is walking her dog, Millie.

Sara Smith – Notes Editor

Sara is a Notes Editor for the law review. She is a part-time evening student expected to graduate in December 2024 and sit for the February 2025 bar exam. She graduated from St. Joseph’s University in December 2015. When she is not at school, she is working full-time as a Compliance Paralegal for a mortgage lender. Sara has a wide background in real estate and in addition to regulatory compliance in mortgage lending, she has also worked at title companies and for attorneys who represented buyers, sellers, and lenders.

Bridget M. Ryan – Notes Editor

Bridget is a 3L Honors Scholar in the FlexTime Program, and graduated with a BA in Communications for Digital Media Production from Adelphi University Honors College. In addition to her role as Note Editor, Bridget is the founder and Co-Chair of the Nassau County Bar Association’s Law Student Committee, and is an active Board Member of the NCBA’s charitable arm, the We Care Fund. Bridget works full-time for the Hon. Christopher T. McGrath in Nassau County Supreme Court.
